Zea mays subsp. parviglumis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Jalisco hingga Oaxaca). Nama ilmiah Zea mays subsp. parviglumis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Hugh Hellmut Iltis pada tahun 1980.
