Zornia laevis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko tengah dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Zornia laevis diperkenalkan oleh Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1830.
