Allenrolfea occidentalis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian barat dan selatan-tengah hingga Meksiko utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan iodinebush. Nama ilmiah Allenrolfea occidentalis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Sereno Watson pada tahun 1891.
