Alphitonia ponderosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rhamnaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hawai'i kauilatree. Nama ilmiah Alphitonia ponderosa diperkenalkan oleh William (Wilhelm) Hillebrand pada tahun 1888.
