Hyptis verticillata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan john charles. Nama ilmiah Hyptis verticillata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1787.
