Leersia oryzoides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari belahan bumi utara yang beriklim sedang hingga Meksiko timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan rice cutgrass. Nama ilmiah Leersia oryzoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1788.
