Terri adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Thymus vulgaris ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa barat daya, Italia tenggara. Nama ilmiah Thymus vulgaris diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
