Bunga kancing adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Gomphrena globosa ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Brazil. Bunga kancing juga dikenal dengan sebutan lain yaitu bunga kenop. Nama ilmiah Gomphrena globosa diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
