Agave tequilana merupakan tumbuhan sukulen dari famili Asparagaceae yang tumbuh menahun. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko barat dan tengah. Nama ilmiah Agave tequilana diperkenalkan oleh Frédéric Albert Constantin Weber pada tahun 1902.
