Agrostis trachyphylla adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari RD Kongo timur laut hingga kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur. Nama ilmiah Agrostis trachyphylla diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Robert Knud Friedrich Pilger pada tahun 1926.
