Alloplectus hispidus merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Gesneriaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Venezuela hingga Peru utara. Nama ilmiah Alloplectus hispidus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1829.
