Alternanthera bettzickiana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Selatan bagian barat hingga Brazil. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama bayam merah. Nama ilmiah Alternanthera bettzickiana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Eduard August von Regel pada tahun 1884.
