Amaranthus blitum subsp. emarginatus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil hingga Argentina bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Amaranthus blitum subsp. emarginatus mulai dipublikasikan pada tahun 1987.
