Aphelandra caput-medusae merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Peru hingga Brazil (Acre). Nama ilmiah Aphelandra caput-medusae pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Gustav Lindau pada tahun 1904.
