Arctostaphylos australis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Ericaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko (Baja California Norte). Nama ilmiah Arctostaphylos australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alice Eastwood pada tahun 1944.
