Bellonia aspera merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Gesneriaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Hispaniola. Nama ilmiah Bellonia aspera pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
