Berkheya cirsiifolia merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Provinsi Cape hingga Provinsi Free State (Afsel) dan KwaZulu-Natal. Nama ilmiah Berkheya cirsiifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1959.
