Beta macrocarpa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Kepulauan Kanaria, Mediterania. Nama ilmiah Beta macrocarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Giovanni Gussone pada tahun 1826.
