Carex capricornis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh pada genangan air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Nama ilmiah Carex capricornis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl Friedrich Meinshausen pada tahun 1886.
