Chamaecrista nictitans subsp. brachypoda merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Bolivia hingga Brazil dan Paraguay. Nama ilmiah Chamaecrista nictitans subsp. brachypoda diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama George Bentham pada tahun 1982.
