Chamaecrista potentilla merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Minas Gerais). Nama ilmiah Chamaecrista potentilla pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1982.
