Chlorophytum comosum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asparagaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Kamerun, Ethiopia hingga Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan spider plant. Nama ilmiah Chlorophytum comosum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1862.
