Chorizanthe flava merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko (Baja California tengah). Nama ilmiah Chorizanthe flava pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Townshend Stith Brandegee pada tahun 1889.
