Chrysolepis chrysophylla merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fagaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian barat. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan giant chinquapin. Nama ilmiah Chrysolepis chrysophylla diperkenalkan oleh David Douglas pada tahun 1948.
