Columnea aurea merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Gesneriaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kolombia. Nama ilmiah Columnea aurea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Józef Warszewicz Ritter von Rawicz pada tahun 1845.
