Cosmos nitidus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Meksiko (México State). Nama ilmiah Cosmos nitidus pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 1958.
