Cyperus alopecuroides merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan foxtail flatsedge. Nama ilmiah Cyperus alopecuroides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christen Friis Rottbøll pada tahun 1773.
