Dasysphaera tomentosa merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Somalia utara, Kenya tenggara, hingga Tanzania timur. Nama ilmiah Dasysphaera tomentosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Georg Ludwig August Volkens pada tahun 1894.
