Daucus carota subsp. fontanesii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan) yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Macaronesia, Mediterania barat dan tengah. Nama ilmiah Daucus carota subsp. fontanesii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Albert Thellung pada tahun 1926.
