Eleocharis acuta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Eleocharis acuta pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Robert Brown pada tahun 1810.
