Eleocharis brachycarpa adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Texas tenggara hingga Meksiko (Tamaulipas). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shortfruit spikerush. Nama ilmiah Eleocharis brachycarpa diperkenalkan oleh Henry Knute Svenson pada tahun 1929.
