Eleocharis equisetiformis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China hingga Jepang. Nama ilmiah Eleocharis equisetiformis diperkenalkan oleh Karl Friedrich Meinshausen pada tahun 1915.
