Eleocharis montevidensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sand spikerush. Nama ilmiah Eleocharis montevidensis diperkenalkan oleh Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1837.
