Eleocharis ochrostachys adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Asia tropis dan subtropis hingga Pasifik barat. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama purun, purun tikus, atau ngunu bobo (Maluku). Nama ilmiah Eleocharis ochrostachys diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ernst Gottlieb von Steudel pada tahun 1854.
