Eriogonum smithii merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Polygonaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Utah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan flat-top buckwheat. Nama ilmiah Eriogonum smithii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis James Lauritz Reveal pada tahun 1967.
