Euonymus theifolius merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Celastraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya hingga China (Yunnan). Nama ilmiah Euonymus theifolius diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nathaniel Wallich pada tahun 1875.
