Forsythia suspensa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Oleaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan weeping forsythia. Nama ilmiah Forsythia suspensa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 1804.
