Gardenia imperialis subsp. physophylla adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah kawasan tropis Afrika barat dan barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Gardenia imperialis subsp. physophylla diperkenalkan oleh Karl Moritz Schumann pada tahun 1985.
