Gomphrena demissa merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil timur laut. Nama ilmiah Gomphrena demissa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1826.
