Gomphrena mendocina subsp. australis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Argentina (Neuquén). Nama ilmiah Gomphrena mendocina subsp. australis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Troels Myndel Pedersen pada tahun 1984.
