Gomphrena scapigera merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Amaranthaceae (suku bayam-bayaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Bahia, Minas Gerais). Nama ilmiah Gomphrena scapigera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1826.
