Gymnopogon grandiflorus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Peru, Brazil selatan, hingga Argentina timur laut. Nama ilmiah Gymnopogon grandiflorus mulai dipublikasikan pada tahun 1968.
