Helictochloa compressa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Hungaria, Semenanjung Balkan, hingga Krym. Nama ilmiah Helictochloa compressa diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama János (Johann) A. Heuffel pada tahun 2011.
