Hesperostipa curtiseta merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan subarktik Amerika hingga Amerika Serikat barat laut dan utara-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shortbristle needle and thread. Nama ilmiah Hesperostipa curtiseta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Albert Spear Hitchcock pada tahun 1993.
