Jatropha decipiens merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko (Jalisco). Nama ilmiah Jatropha decipiens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Marcus Eugene Jones pada tahun 1933.
