Jatropha mutabilis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil timur laut. Nama ilmiah Jatropha mutabilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1864.
