Jatropha ortegae adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Meksiko (Sinaloa, Michoacán). Nama ilmiah Jatropha ortegae diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Paul Carpenter Standley pada tahun 1940.
