Juncus balticus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Juncaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa, utara, Amerika tengah, hingga Amerika Selatan bagian selatan. Nama ilmiah Juncus balticus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1809.
