Justicia petiolaris adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mozambique hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Justicia petiolaris pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1864.
