Lachnagrostis lachnantha merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eritrea, Afrika Selatan, hingga Jazirah Arab barat daya. Nama ilmiah Lachnagrostis lachnantha diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 2002.
